Anni Downs, "I guess you would call my style whimsical, having a little bit of quirky thrown in. With a lot of my designs I like to tell a story, sometimes with sayings, sometimes just with imagery. I love using different mediums such as wool, cottons and linens to create a little texture in my work, and like a slightly low tonal value. I like giving my work a slightly organic handmade look combining stitchery, piecing and applique.
My style is a little bit quirky with a touch of whimsy. I combine stitchery, applique and piecing to create quilts, bags, tablerunners, plus many other bits and pieces. I love using hand dyed woven wools and other mediums. I absolutely love the process of stitching and hand-work; for me, it is certainly a form of meditation."
